About TM Dance World
TM Dance World was founded by Tara McKeown (Marshall) in 2012 and originally run out of the Kimberley Hall in Darfield. In 2017 Tara purchased an old "shed" at 7 North Terrace Darfield that has been renovated into a purpose built three studio dance and art centre which opened in 2018.
TMDW offers classes in Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Ballet, Tap, Stretch, Musical Theatre and Performance.
We cater from Tiny Tots at three years old to advanced levels. Many of our students will dance all the way through their school years with us. Dance not only teaches the steps, we believe dance has empowered many students in building self confidence, athleticism, goal setting, dedication and motivation to achieve in all areas they tackle in life.
TMDW provides a safe nurturing learning environment. A place students and parents can call their second home. A Place our community loves to be involved in!
Our new center has 3 dance studios, a student waiting/changing area, a parent viewing room and a small dance shop and the south end of the building is the the new home to local Artist Vicky Peacock and known as Creative Sparks. Vicky will utilise the end of the building as two studios, one for Art Classes and one for Music Lessons.
TMDW work closely with Saba Polderman - Charles, director of the Malvern Ballet School. We believe ballet technique is important and working together with the Malvern Ballet School provides huge benefit to our dancers training.
In 2020 the studio expanded its dance classes to Oxford as well. TMDW currently run Jazz, Acrobatics and Hip Hop out of the beautiful Oxford Town Hall. 2021 will see the addition of 1 extra day of classes adding Contemporary dance to the timetable as well.
TMDW has an excellent business support system with assistance from various professionals including a business mentor, specialist accountant and legal advice team.
Tara and her team of talented passionate teachers are qualified and registered teachers with the Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Alexia Flexibility and Acrobatic Arts.
